We had to take a slow approach as we drove to Ground Cover. It was a typical Midlands day, so misty that you felt like you were in an aeroplane drifting through the clouds and not in our trusty, white bakkie travelling slower than one of those Big Beautiful African Ladies we see walking with everything piled on top of their heads. The mist was so thick that we could have easily missed the turn off but soon enough Jan had us driving up the beautifully paved road towards the Ground Cover shop and workshop.
Mist soaked flowers on either side of us were reminding us that it is Spring with displays of pink, white, purple and yellow.

I really love my visits to Ground Cover. Not only for the gorgeous gardens and stunning views but also because of how happy they make my feet feel! i have a real ‘thing’ for shoes but my feet need to be happy feet. You know?
I came away with a new pair of Bike boots to give my old favourites a bit of a rest. Can you believe that they have been going for 18 years?
